Foreign media spotlight BTS Jin's solo: "A record of encouragement, achieving goal of 'Happy'"

Foreign media outlets have expressed satisfaction with BTS Jin's first solo album.

With the release of Jin's first solo album "Happy" on November 15, various international outlets praised his musicality and the special message of love he conveys to his fans.

British music magazine NME said, "If you read Jin's interviews, it quickly becomes clear how central 'happiness' is to him. He wants to show to his fans his bright side rather than his darker emotions and often talks about the support and happiness he receives from them. Naming his first solo album 'Happy' was a natural choice."

NME further commented, "This six-track album is filled with brightness while also acknowledging that make happiness shine even more. Jin understands the value of darkness in achieving the joy. 'Happy' is essentially a record of encouragement. It contains the joy of discovering joy in small moments of everyday life, promising that anyone can experience happy emotions."

The U.S. magazine Teen Vogue highlighted, "Jin's consistency in delivering heartfelt message to fans, stating, "Two years ago, Jin promised his fans an eternally shining universe with his first solo single 'The Astronaut.' He is ready to fulfill his promise to go towards eternity with his loved ones. Within this context, this album carries a beautiful inevitability."

The renowned U.S. music magazine Rolling Stones said, "'Happy' is a work that completes BTS' second chapter. This album solves the puzzle of how each the seven members' creative journeys unfolds."

The Rolling Stones also added, "Jin's charming voice shines elegantly across both new-wave tracks with synthesizers and raw ballads accompanied by simple piano melodies. The title track 'Running Wild' perfectly complements Jin's bright and cheerful charm."

American music outlet Consequence Of Sound noted that Jin has firmly established his identity as a solo artist. It observed, "When Jin began his promotions with the pre-release track 'I'll Be There', he mentioned that his goal was to bring happiness. Through this album, he seems to have achieved that goal."

Finally Billboard published a recent interview with Jin and analyzed, "'Happy' is an album that showcases Jin's creative growth and his ability to explore new musical horizons. The record is deeply connected to the roots of BTS's journey while delivering a warm and heartfelt message. It captivates fans while also appealing to New audiences."

In an interview with Billboard, Jin said, "While making the album, I was able to look back on how much ARMYs means to me. While working on each track, I thought about what I wanted to say to them and how I could bring them joy and happiness. And I expressed how much I missed them while we were apart."

Regarding his collaborations with American singer-songwriter MAX and popular Japanese rock band ONE KK ROCK, he said, "I'm so grateful to have been able to create 'Happy' with such talented artists."

When asked if he would like to make a band and try a separate project, be firmly stated, "My only band is BTS," and emphasizing that "I'm personally interested in band music and enjoy exploring various styles as a solo artist, but in the end, the roots of my music will always be in BTS."

Meanwhile, Jin appeared in the popular NBC popular "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" airing at 1:35 PM (KST) on the 21st and performed the title song "Running Wild."
